PDF Scanner & Editor

Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 8, 2026

This policy explains what data the PDF Scanner & Editor app for iPhone and Android (“the app”) processes. The app scans documents, turns photos into PDFs and lets you sign, edit, merge, compress and protect PDF files.

In short: Your documents never leave your device unless you share them yourself. There is no account and we run no servers. The app shows ads from Google AdMob; in the EU/EEA and UK you are asked for consent first.

1. Your documents

PDFs you create or import, and signatures you save, are stored only in the app's storage on your device. On iPhone, the app's “Documents” folder is also visible in Apple's Files app so you can access your PDFs there. We have no access to your files.

Scanning, text recognition (OCR), signing, drawing, merging, compressing and password protection all run on your device. Nothing is uploaded to us or to any other service.

If you have enabled iCloud Backup (iPhone) or Android Backup, the operating system may include the app's data in the backup of your own iCloud or Google account. That backup is controlled by you and by Apple or Google.

2. Permissions

3. Advertising (Google AdMob)

The app is free and financed by ads provided by Google AdMob (Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland). To show ads, measure them and prevent fraud, the Google Mobile Ads SDK processes data such as:

Consent (EU/EEA, UK, Switzerland): before ads are requested, the app shows Google's consent form (Google User Messaging Platform). Personalised ads are only shown with your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can change your choice at any time in the app under Settings → Ad privacy choices. Without consent, Google may show non-personalised or limited ads, which still require processing of the data listed above for delivery and fraud prevention (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

More information: Google Privacy Policy · How Google uses data from apps that use its services.

4. What we do not do

5. Children

The app is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

6. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, and to object to processing, as well as the right to withdraw consent at any time. Because we do not store personal data ourselves, requests about ad data are best directed to Google; you can still contact us at the address above. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, for example the Landesbeauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit Nordrhein-Westfalen.

To delete all data of the app, delete your PDFs in the app or simply uninstall it.

7. Changes

We will update this page if the app changes the way it processes data. The date at the top shows the latest version.
